Battling back: Santa Cruz is hoping to play a vital role in Rovers' survival bid Roque Santa Cruz is targeting Blackburn Rovers' game against Tottenham Hotspur on April 4 to make his comeback for the club. The striker has missed Blackburn's last three games owing to tendinitis in his knee and Rovers boss Sam Allardyce insisted Santa Cruz did not join up with the Paraguay squad during the international break. Blackburn are just two points above the relegation zone and the striker could play a key role in their Premier League survival. 'I am desperate to play these games and to do my best to help Blackburn stay up,' Santa Cruz told the Lancashire Telegraph. 'That is why I am focussed on getting my rehabilitation right so that I can get fit and play at top form. 'It is going better, I have been working hard in the gym to get the strength back to the leg and I have been playing a lot with pain in my knees. 'Now that is getting really good and hopefully I can get back to 100 per cent in the next game. The idea is to be fit for the Tottenham game. 'That is why I have not been involved and why me, the club and Paraguay decided not to travel to the international games so I can concentrate on the rehabilitation.'
