Roque Santa Cruz has told Blackburn Rovers that he is "fully committed" to them after failing to secure a January move to Manchester City.[LNB] City could not prise the Paraguayan international away from Ewood Park and Rovers boss Sam Allardyce now wants him to weigh in with his share of goals to keep Blackburn in the Premier League.[LNB]"I have never seen too much of a player who's been walking around the place miserable. He's been okay," Allardyce told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"He obviously wanted a move if he could have got it. It did not happen but he has said he is fully committed to Blackburn, which is great from our point of view."[LNB]PivotalSanta Cruz has scored only four times for Blackburn in an injury-hit season but after regaining full fitness is seen by Allardyce as a pivotal part of Rover's attacking options as they look to climb away from trouble near the bottom of the table.[LNB]Blackburn are yet to lose since Allardyce took charge in December but four of their six league games have ended in draws.[LNB]Allardyce added: "We need Roque Santa Cruz, Jason Roberts and Benni McCarthy, and other players in forward positions, to notch a few more goals because we are creating chances for them.[LNB]"The one thing that has let us down has been in front of goal and Roque, Benni and Jason can put that right for us.[LNB]"They have done very well up to now but we need them to do a little better to get more wins, rather than draws."[LNB]AmbitionSanta Cruz admitted that he retains an ambition to play for a "big club" but is satisfied to remain a Blackburn player, for now at least, and help them to win their fight against relegation.[LNB]He said: "I said that I wanted to get better in my football and my career and I did say that I was very interested if a big club showed an interest .[LNB]"But for me it's not a big issue that it didn't happen because I am happy at Blackburn.[LNB]"For me it's never been a big deal to stay at the club because I really like playing for Blackburn.[LNB]"It's a pleasure to keep playing and to do it for Blackburn and to have the chance to put the club where it belongs."[LNB]
