Sam not hitting panic button yet
Rovers secured their first point with a goalless draw at home to West Ham on Saturday after back-to-back defeats to Manchester City and Sunderland.
However, he does not believe his side have received full value for their efforts after dominating the games against the Black Cats and the Hammers.
"We have to believe the performances are good enough," said Allardyce.
"People would think that we were struggling in the first three games with one point but performance-wise we are not, although results-wise we are."
Goals are at a premium for Allardyce's team with just one - Gael Givet's strike against the Black Cats - in six matches spanning the end of last season and the beginning of this.
The Blackburn boss has signed £6million Hajduk Split striker Nikola Kalinic and brought in on-loan Chelsea forward Franco di Santo with part of the £18million he received from Manchester City for Roque Santa Cruz.
He is confident they will provide competition for Jason Roberts and the injured Benni McCarthy, but has stressed if they are to start winning the defence needs to be at their best.
Allardyce hopes Saturday's shut-out against West Ham is a sign of things to come.
"The basis for starting to turn your season around comes from clean sheets," he said.
"We are not going to be a free-scoring team, although we can create our fair share of chances, and teams like ours are very rarely free-scoring.
"That is three games with lots of chances and only one goal - there lies the key area for us to continue to work on and hopefully we turn it around very quickly."
At times during Saturday's match, especially in the second half, the fans at Ewood Park became frustrated by their team's inability to carve out chances.
Allardyce, however, said they had to be patient and accept that not every game would involve his trademark high-tempo, physical and direct tactics.
"We have to work out the balance of play and we worked it out right against West Ham," he added.
"We played a slower, more patient game unlike we would normally play.
"From an attacking point of view, while it started slowly, we built up the momentum and it got better and better.
"I thought it was a very accomplished performance by the players to be honest.
"The frustration for the fans is that they want to see us win and we didn't.
"We did enough, albeit in a more patient way. If that is how we need to win it then that is how it has to be sometimes."
After bringing in Pascal Chimbonda to replace Stephen Warnock, who completed his move to Aston Villa last week, Allardyce does not anticipate adding to his squad further before the close of the transfer window tomorrow.
"I won't be here on Tuesday, I'll not be in this country," said the Rovers manager.
"There won't be any more deals being done from my point of view - certainly not going out unless it is one of the players who is not playing in the first team as much as he would like.
"It might be good enough for the club and it might be good enough for him."
