lackburn boss Sam Allardyce believes veteran defender Michel Salgado has made a mockery of those who thought he was over the hill.[LNB] The Spaniard joined Rovers on a free transfer last summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.[LNB]Now 34 years old, many feared the full-back was on his last legs and would struggle to cope with the demands of the Premier League.[LNB]A shaky start to his time at Ewood Park only served to add fuel to the fire, but since finding his feet he has offered a reassuring presence and vital big game experience.[LNB]"He is out there leading by example," said Allardyce.[LNB]"Our young lads are playing well for us but Michel is doing more than his bit and his experience has proved invaluable.[LNB]"He has come to terms with what it takes to play in the Premier League and, since December, has been outstanding.[LNB]"There is not a fitter lad about, that's what I like about him."
