Rovers v Blackpool: Early Team News

18 March 2011 13:00
Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways after the break, they could do with the points to get away from the drop zone. Blackpool could also use the points but if they got them it would be something of a disaster. Rovers go into this one hoping that Phil Jones could make a return to the first team, he played in the reserve game the other night and notched up 45 minutes after returning from injury. The England Under-21 defender has not featured for Rovers since December when he damaged his knee ligaments. Ryan Nelsen returns to the side after serving a one match ban, but serving a two game suspension starting with this game is Gael Givet. Midfielders David Dunn and Vince Grella are both out with hip and ankle injuries respectively. Keith Andrews still has a groin problem. As far as Blackpool are concerned, they are glad to see the return of Charlie Adam who served a two game ban for reaching ten yellow cards. Better news for Rovers is that DJ Campbell is still suspended. Midfielder Eliot Grandin (hamstring) is back in contention to start, defender Craig Cathcart is set to go back into the side after coming back from food poisoning and striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher is also back from a hamstring injury. Richard Kingson will return in goal after a hamstring injury suffered during the defeat at Chelsea last time out led to fourth choice Mark Halstead being thrown into action.
