Rovers set to talk to midfield duo

Both had their injury problems last season, with the 28-year-old Reid playing just four times before a knee injury ruled him out for the rest of the campaign and Dunn's appearances sporadic. "David and Steven have both got a year left, so we'll sit down and have a chat with them," said Rovers chairman John Williams, who has already stated his intention to begin talks with winger Morten Gamst Pedersen. "We've got David, Steven and Morten in that position." Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has also invited former Italy centre-forward Christian Vieri for a trial at the club's training camp in Austria this week. The 35-year-old is a free agent after being released by Atalanta but a number of questions need to be answered about his fitness and salary. Allardyce, who has not travelled to Austria, may have to speak to Chris Samba when the squad returns after the defender did little to commit himself to the club having been linked with a move away. "I am still at Blackburn so I can't comment. Whoever wants me will need to talk to Blackburn Rovers and we will see," Samba told the Lancashire Telegraph. "I have nothing to add. I am calm and waiting. I have had a great holiday."
