Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is set to stage an 11th hour bid for unsettled Tottenham striker Darren Bent in a last-ditch attempt to gazump rivals Sunderland.
Rovers have money to spend following the £18million sale of Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City and Allardyce has identified the out-of-favour former Charlton and Ipswich frontman as the ideal replacement for the Paraguayan at Ewood Park.
