Rovers open up against Wolves

lackburn will start the 2011/12 Premier League season with a home game against Mick McCarthy's Wolves.[LNB] The 2010/11 campaign proved to be a difficult one for Blackburn, with Venkys' takeover of the club, Sam Allardyce's departure and a relegation dogfight providing unwelcome distractions.[LNB]Steve Kean was able to steer the club to safety - just - but he will need to hit the ground running this season if he is to keep his head off the chopping board and appease demanding owners.[LNB]That home date with Wolves will see Rovers get the new campaign up and running, pitching them into opening-day action against their final opponents from last season, before they go to Aston Villa for their first away date.[LNB]Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea will all travel to Ewood Park before Christmas while tricky trips to Liverpool and Manchester United wrap up the calendar year.[LNB]Blackburn will bring the curtain down on the season away at Wigan, and will hope to avoid any final day drama at the DW Stadium.
