Rovers move for Algerian

Blackburn Rovers are in talks to sign Algerian international Kamel Ghilas. Skysports.com revealed earlier this year that a string of English clubs were tracking the Celta Vigo star. Bolton and Portsmouth were most recently linked, but now it seems Blackburn are ready to win the race for his signature. The 25-year-old - who scored 13 goals in Spain's Segunda Liga last term - is now closing on a dream move to the Premier League. It is understood Rovers have agreed to pay Celta €2million (£1.7million) for Ghilas, who played in France and Portugal before moving to Spain in 2008. Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is also considering a move for French midfielder Sekou Baradji - who has joined the club on trial. The 25-year-old is currently plying his trade for Portuguese club Naval, but he has experience of playing in England. He was signed by West Ham in 2006, but was loaned to Reading and played a handful of games for them before being released by the Hammers. He has since rebuilt his career in France and Portugal, but he is now hoping to earn a move back to the Premier League. "I believe that I could do a job for the team," said Baradji. "I am more mature now and ready for the Premier League."
