lackburn manager Sam Allardyce is targeting Sporting Gijon left-back Roberto Canella, according to reports in Spain.[LNB] The 22-year-old defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past - Stoke were reportedly keen in January - and is valued at 12million Euros.[LNB]Sporting, who are not yet clear of relegation from La Liga this season, are experiencing financial problems and may opt to cash in on the Spain Under-21 international.[LNB]Rovers scout Martin Glover was reportedly in the stands for the game against Valladolid last month and is though to have been impressed by Canella.[LNB]"We know about this interest but Blackburn have not officially spoken to us," Gijon said.[LNB]"This subject is over until the end of the season. If we receive an offer it is normal to consider it."[LNB]Real Madrid were rumoured to be interested in the player last summer while Aston Villa have also been linked with the promising youngster.[LNB]On the Blackburn interest, Canella remarked: "I see the rumours but I want to focus on my work and not suffer any distractions."
