Rovers in Pavone talks - Report

lackburn are reportedly in talks to sign Argentinian striker Mariano Pavone, who is a free agent after buying out his contract at Real Betis.[LNB] The 29-year-old, who spent last season on loan at River Plate, has jetted into England for talks with Rovers and is set to undergo a medical, according to skysports.com.[LNB]Blackburn are ready to offer the South American a three-year deal to make the move to Ewood Park.[LNB]Rovers boss Steve Kean is keen to bolster his attacking options after seeing Roque Santa Cruz and Mame Biram Diouf leave the club following loan spells at Ewood Park last season.[LNB]Should Pavone join Rovers, he would have no problem gaining a work permit as he holds an EU passport enabling him to make the move to England.[LNB]Pavone signed for Betis in a 6.8million euros deal from Estudiantes in June 2007, two months after winning his one and only cap for Argentina, in a friendly against Chile.
