Rovers drop fears deepen

West Brom banished fears of relegation from the Barclays Premier League and pushed Blackburn closer to the drop via Martin Olsson's own goal and second-half efforts from Marc-Antoine Fortune and Liam Ridgewell in a 3-0 win at the Hawthorns.

Olsson sliced his clearance past Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson for the opener after seven minutes before Fortune and Ridgewell wrapped up the points for Roy Hodgson's side.

Rovers substitute Anthony Modeste was sent off in injury time for violent conduct after kicking out in retaliation at Albion defender Billy Jones.
