lackburn appear poised to complete the signing of Monaco central defender Cedric Mongongu.[LNB] Mongongu is currently in talks with Rovers about a deal as manager Steve Kean attempts to plug the gap created by Phil Jones' exit to Manchester United.[LNB]Although Blackburn and Kean are in pole position to sign Mongongu, it is understood French champions Lille are also in the hunt.[LNB]However, the player's agent, Christophe Mongai, has made it clear Rovers are Mongongu's first choice given his desire to play in the Premier League.[LNB]"He would like to join Blackburn Rovers," Mongai told the Lancashire Telegraph.[LNB]"There have been a lot of clubs interested in him, but yes, he wants to come to Blackburn and the Premier League. That is his wish.[LNB]"The two clubs are in discussions, and the player is in discussions with Monaco and Blackburn.[LNB]"We can't say anything has been sorted yet, but we hope it will be soon. Discussions between everyone will go on."[LNB]Negotiations are also continuing with Argentinian striker Hugo Pavone, who recently bought himself out of his contract with Real Betis to facilitate a move.[LNB]
