Blackburn have appointed Steve Kean as first-team coach and promoted assistant chief scout Martyn Glover to the position of head of player recruitment. Manager Sam Allardyce has moved to bolster his staff after coach Karl Robinson left the club last month to be re-united with former Rovers boss Paul Ince at MK Dons. Kean has previously worked as assistant manager under Chris Coleman at Fulham, Real Sociedad and, most recently, Coventry. Glover has been with Blackburn for 11 years, holding a number of positions in recruitment and development with the academy and at the senior training centre. "We had numerous applications for the first-team coaching position and Steve stood out above the rest through his personality, experience and knowledge of football at the highest level," said Allardyce. "We are very confident that he will become a key member of the team behind the team, as we drive things forward. Martyn has been with the club over a long period and has shown exceptional dedication to the task of recruitment."
