Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean thinks January signing Ruben Rochina is ready for the Premier League. The striker, 19, joined Rovers for an undisclosed fee from Barcelona and has impressed in training and the reserves.

Kean told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Ruben Rochina will be in the squad [against Fulham on Saturday]. He has done well in training.

"He's starting to show signs that he's up to pace with the intensity of the training," the Scot added.

He continued: "If he doesn't start the game then I'm sure he will be involved against Blackpool on 19 March."

Valencia-born Rochina joined Barcelona at the age of 13 but failed to make a first-team appearance. He has represented Spain up to under-19 level and was part of the squad that reached the Uefa Under-19 Championships in France in 2010.

Rochina will become the fourth Spaniard to represent Blackburn following in the footsteps of Michel Salgado, Javier De Pedro and Yordi Gonzalez.
