Robbo shrugs off criticism
lackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson has dismissed criticism about his recent performances, insisting he is happy with his form.
Robinson came under fire after conceding a Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick in last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.
However, the former Leeds and Tottenham custodian claims he is content with his own showings and that of the defence in front of him.
"I haven't seen any of the press so it's news to me. I don't listen to you guys any more," he said in response to a question about the criticism aimed at him after Old Trafford.
"I'm reasonably happy with the way I am playing, confidence is good and I'm playing behind a team which is defending well as a unit so I'm pleased.
"The last couple of games we have let in a couple of goals but overall I'm pleased with the way the team is defending."
Robinson has called on his team-mates to be a bit more clinical if they are to drag themselves out of trouble at the wrong end of the table.
"I think we are a stronger unit as a team and I think we are creating a lot of chances - we have to start taking more of them," added Robinson.
"The last couple of games that has not happened but we have had difficult opponents (Aston Villa and United) but from here that is what we have to start doing.
"Hindsight is a great thing to have but we can't afford to look back. We need to look where we are going to put it right and where we are going to get points from.
"We have put in some decent performances without killing games off or holding on to games.
"We have been in match-winning situations more than two or three times this season and we have let it slip and they have turned into defeats and draws which have put us in the position we are now.
"We are in a situation we have put ourselves in but it is one we can get ourselves out of. We have 13 games left to save our season."
