Despite Steve Kean making noises about him staying, Blackburn captain Christopher Samba has handed in a transfer request, his management company have confirmed.

Samba was last week quoted in L'Equipe saying that it was "time for a change".Tottenham and QPR have been the first pair to come sniffing around, but both have been told that their bids have been rejected.

Kean also stressed that Samba was not for sale, but quite how he is going to stop him leaving is anyone’s guess.

A statement, Samba said: "I have officially requested a transfer from Blackburn Rovers Football Club. I have personally informed the owners, manager and executives at the club that I want to leave in this transfer window."
