Reid prolongs Baggies loan stay
Steven Reid has extended his loan spell at West Brom until the end of the season and is hoping his performances lead to at permanent deal.[LNB] The versatile Blackburn man, who is out of contract in June, has figured predominantly at right-back for Albion as they close in on promotion back to the Premier League, making five starts during his month-long spell at The Hawthorns.[LNB]But Reid, who feels he is now over the injury problems that have dogged him in recent years, will now stay on until May 2 to hopefully see the job through - although Rovers do have the right to recall him.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted with the way it's gone. We've had a decent run and I'm delighted to have played so many games. I think I've played five 90-minute games in 21 days. Before that I hadn't played five 90-minute matches in the league in well over a year."[LNB]And the 29-year-old added: "My future's a bit uncertain. I've put that to the back of my mind over the last few months while I've tried to get back to fitness and I'm not letting it worry me. First and foremost I'm looking to the next game and the next 90 minutes.[LNB]"If I do well then it would be nice, contract-wise, if something could be there. If I keep performing well and that leads to a longer stay at the club then I will be delighted - and it will mean I've done well for the club."
