Raul sits out trip to Finland
Schalke striker Raul has not travelled to Finland for the German side's Europa League play-off clash with HJK Helsinki.[LNB] Raul was the subject of an offer from Blackburn on Tuesday - an approach he has turned down - but that has not stopped him from sitting out the trip ahead of Thursday's first leg.[LNB]The 34-year-old Real Madrid legend would be unable to play for another club in European competition if he played against HJK, but Schalke claim he has been rested ahead of the weekend Bundesliga meeting with Mainz.[LNB]"We did not want to run the risk of Raul getting injured because we will play on an artificial pitch in Helsinki," said general manager Horst Heldt.
