Preston sign Blackburn's Treacy

Preston have signed Irish winger Keith Treacy from Blackburn on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee."I'm delighted to be here," said the 21-year-old. "I spoke to manager Darren Ferguson a couple of times over the phone and he is very ambitious." [LNB]Treacy started his career at Rovers and has had loan moves at Stockport County and Sheffield United. [LNB]The deal was completed shortly before the 1700 BST transfer deadline and he follows Danny Welbeck to the club. [LNB]Welbeck joined on loan last week from Manchester United and scored in the 2-0 win over Ipswich at Deepdale on Saturday. [LNB]Treacy will wear the number 16 shirt previously worn by Paul McKenna and has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the option for a further year.
