Pedersen plans Rovers stay

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen has offered an indication of the impact of manager Sam Allardyce by announcing his desire to sign an extended deal with the relegation-threatened club.[LNB] Speculation suggested Pedersen faced an uncertain future at Ewood Park under former boss Paul Ince, with the Norwegian terminating early December contract discussions as he was not guaranteed first-team opportunities.[LNB]However, Ince was sacked later that month and Allardyce was named successor to the former England captain as Blackburn looked for a lift in their battle to avoid the drop.[LNB]The one-time Premier League champions remain in the bottom three, but Pedersen has played a part in 10 of Allardyce's 15 games and he has been impressed by his new boss.[LNB]When asked if he would sign a new contract should one be offered, Pedersen told Nordlys: "Of course. I am enjoying myself and Blackburn is a nice club.[LNB]Support"There has never been any trouble and they have always been supportive. But I haven't received a new offer, yet.[LNB]"I would like to continue to play under Sam Allardyce. He is a very good manager."[LNB]And Pedersen insists that his motivation to put pen-to-paper is based upon a desire to play football, not a possible pay rise.[LNB]Referring to contract negotiations during Ince's tenure, Pedersen added: "I said no. The contract talks were stopped.[LNB]"I ended up in the stands for four or five matches after having played regularly for several years.[LNB]"The situation was not ideal for me. The offer was good financially, but money is not everything, I want to play."[LNB]
