Morten Gamst Pedersen is hoping to be offered a new contract to extend his stay with Blackburn Rovers. The Norway international midfielder, whose current deal is due to expire at the end of next term, rejected the club's initial offer earlier in the season. Pedersen did not want to commit his long-term future to the Ewood Park outfit under the management of Paul Ince, but since the arrival of Sam Allardyce he has changed his tune. The 27-year-old, who joined Rovers from Tromso in a £1.5million deal in the summer of 2004, hopes that further talks will be forthcoming over the summer. Pedersen told TV2 Sporten: "I turned them down in November last year, but now there is a new manager and I really enjoy playing for him. "I get to play all the time and my form is getting better and better, so it's not unlikely that I will be offered a new contract." Givet Meanwhile, Rovers are poised to agree a permanent deal for on-loan defender Gael Givet. The Marseille man was brought in by Allardyce in January and has helped shore-up the club's defence with Premier League survival all-but assured. Givet is set to put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the two clubs expected to agree a 4million euros (£3.5million) fee.
