Blackburn midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen says that he want to stay at Ewood Park to prove to the doubters that he is just as good as he ever was.

The Norwegian has been with Rovers for eight years and marked that with a goal on Saturday which proved to be the winner against Leicester City.

The 30-year-old celebrated with a walking stick by way of response to Shebby Singh saying that he was now too old for football.

Pedersen told reporters: "I said earlier I am committed to Blackburn. I was one of the first people to say this.

"It is not always up to what you say, though. I am happy here - it is not always you see a footballer stay at a club so long. I have had offers to leave before but I have stayed.

"I can't control what people are saying. If I have a problem with someone, I will go and see them and sort it that way."
