oro 0 Blackburn 0: Stalemate so sweet for Sam as unbeaten run continues

Gareth Southgate's reign as manager of Middlesbrough [LNB]has been one long relegation battle, but as his team dropped to second-from-bottom he pledged they would get out of trouble again.[LNB]Southgate could have wished for better ways to mark his 100th game in charge but a goalless draw, which did Blackburn [LNB]no favours either, made it 12 league games without a win for Boro.[LNB]It could have been a lot worse. Goalkeeper Brad Jones, recalled in place of the axed Ross Turnbull, kept his side in the game with a string of fine saves, the best in the dying seconds when he pushed away a header by Jason Roberts.[LNB] Nipping in: Middlesbrough's Chris Riggott tries to steal the ball from Rovers' Roque Santa Cruz[LNB] Middlesbrough v Blackburn: How the game unfolded[LNB]MIDDLESBROUGH NEWS FROM ACROSS THE WEB[LNB]BLACKBURN NEWS FROM ACROSS THE WEB[LNB]Stoke 1-0 Man City[LNB]Arsenal 0-0 West Ham[LNB]Aston Villa 0-0 Wigan[LNB]Bolton 3-2 Tottenham[LNB]Fulham 3-1Portsmouth[LNB]Hull 2-2 West Brom[LNB] Southgate said: 'It wasn't pretty. It wasn't the result we would have liked but I'm bloody proud of them. 'We have got a point and it may be crucial. We knew it would be a tough game, we knew we'd have to be strong and resilient.[LNB]'We dealt with their height well. We didn't fold. There is all sorts of stick coming our way but we're going to fight it. We have to stay strong together.[LNB] On the run: Boro's Emanuel Pogatetz and Rovers' Brett Emerton go for broke[LNB]'It's not where we want to be. How do we get out of it? We stand firm, we work our socks off and we learn when things don't go right. We will make sure we get through this. At the end of the season we'll make sure we stay in this division. If we do that, it'll be a reasonable achievement.'[LNB]After seeing his Blackburn team fall back into the bottom three themselves, Sam Allardyce was hardly a bundle of laughs, despite taking his unbeaten run since he took over at Ewood Park to six league matches. [LNB] Lofty aspirations: Marlon King is beaten by spring-heeled Chris Samba[LNB]'I'm feeling like we've lost after what we've done on the field,' he moaned. 'It's bitterly disappointing to have got only a point. We keep throwing away opportunities to win.[LNB]Now we're in a difficult position because other teams are winning.'[LNB]  Middlesbrough v Blackburn: How the game unfolded[LNB]MIDDLESBROUGH NEWS FROM ACROSS THE WEB[LNB]BLACKBURN NEWS FROM ACROSS THE WEB[LNB]Stoke 1-0 Man City[LNB]Arsenal 0-0 West Ham[LNB]Aston Villa 0-0 Wigan[LNB]Bolton 3-2 Tottenham[LNB]Fulham 3-1Portsmouth[LNB]Hull 2-2 West Brom[LNB] [LNB] [LNB]
