The 34-year-old joined Rovers in August 2006 but feels the time is right to move on having helped them avoid Premier League relegation this season. He said: "It has been a difficult decision as I have had three great years at this club. But it is time for me to go home. I am just happy that Blackburn are safe. "I am sure I have become a better person because it is a big experience to live abroad and play abroad." Ooijer is hoping to help PSV recover from a poor season in which they finished fourth in the Dutch Eredivisie table. He said: "Hopefully I can do my best and help them get back up the league again." Ooijer is also keen to continue his international career and said: "I will do what I can to stay in there. There is a World Cup coming up and I would like to go to South Africa."
