Offiside call baffles Allardyce

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Sam Allardyce felt his Blackburn side were denied a perfectly good goal at Old Trafford on Saturday.[LNB] Rovers slipped to a 2-0 defeat against reigning champions Manchester United, but it could have been different had they been awarded a late lifeline.[LNB]Goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney broke Blackburn's stubborn resistance, after the visitors held firm for 55 minutes.[LNB]Allardyce's men could have no complaints at finding themselves behind after seeing United squander a number of opportunities before finally forcing a breakthrough.[LNB]However, they felt they had found a route back into the game in stoppage time when Nikola Kalinic poked home.[LNB]DisappointingThe effort was ruled out by an assistant referee's flag, but Allardyce admits that, having seen the incident again, he is baffled by how the officials came to that decision.[LNB]He said: "We cannot have the opportunity taken away from us after we had worked so hard. It is a disappointing scenario to be left with.[LNB]"This is so far onside, it is not a close one. It should have been given. With four minutes to go who knows what might have happened."[LNB]Allardyce was, however, pleased with the overall commitment on show from his side at the Theatre of Dreams.[LNB]He added: "They have got two goals through good finishes from Berbatov and Rooney. You cannot argue with their quality but we have stayed right to the end and that is pleasing."[LNB]
