No Spending Spree Says Big Sam

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce has warned fans that if the takeover does go ahead, there will not be a big spending spree during the January transfer window. Indian business giant Venky's group are about to takeover ownership of the club and some fans are getting excited at the prospect of big money being made available for players.  But Big Sam says that even if millions are made available, January is not the best time to buy. He told Talksport Radio: "Nothing gets me excited for January. I don’t like it. It’s the most horrible month in the football calendar. "So it’s not about being excited. Even if the new owners put millions and millions of pounds onto the table it would be the wrong time and place to be investing any type of money in the January transfer window."
