No royal spectacular at Ewood Park for Prince Albert of Monaco

Prince Albert of Monaco gave Ewood Park an unlikely royal blessing last night by proclaiming himself a Blackburn fan. [LNB]The prince paid a surprise visit to the Lancashire town and watched Blackburn and Newcastle fight out a goalless draw. [LNB]He wore a blue-and-white scarf throughout the match and, when askedif he was a Rovers fan, he said: 'I am now. And for the next fewhours.' A bit of a scrappy game and a few bad calls but an enjoyable day all the same.' [LNB]When asked if he would be back, Prince Albert said: 'Probably, some day, if I'm invited.' The 52-year-old ruler of Monaco was later introduced to a number of players and said: 'If they want to come down to Monaco, sure, they are very welcome.' [LNB]The prince is a big sports fan and a major patron of AS Monaco.
