Newcastle v Blackburn preview

Team news for Wednesday night's Premier League clash between Newcastle and Blackburn at St James' Park.

Newcastle full-back James Perch has a slight ankle problem which could keep him out but Danny Simpson's return to fitness has seen him resigned to the bench recently in any case.

Leon Best is back in training but not ready to play after a long-standing ankle problem, but the only remaining absentees are Steve Harper (shoulder), Hatem Ben Arfa (double leg fracture) and Dan Gosling (knee).

Blackburn have a number of injury problems ahead of the trip, with striker Benjani the latest to join the absent list.

Benjani suffered a hamstring injury against Wigan at the weekend and joins Steven Nzonzi, Vince Grella and Keith Andrews on the sidelines.

El Hadji Diouf is doubtful with a groin problem and may not start.
