Blackburn Rovers look set to have a new manager in place by the weekend according to reports today.

And the man who is being tipped to take the hot seat is former player Tim Sherwood who is said to have been Rovers number one target all along.

After being told initially by Tottenham to go jump off a cliff, reports have said that talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy have been re-opened.

Sherwood is emerging as one of the countries brightest young coaches and with Rovers keen to appoint young blood, he fits the bill.

There is the small problem of compensation for Tottenham but powers that be at Rovers are preparing an offer that should see the 43 year old become available.

There is also talk of Ian Holloway being fancied for the job with speculation that he is to have talks with Rovers chiefs.
