Nelsen vows to end career at Blackburn

Blackburn defender Ryan Nelsen admits he cannot see himself playing for another club in England.

Nelsen, 33, joined Rovers in 2005 and last month signed a one-year contract extension to keep him at Ewood Park through to the summer of 2013. The club captain has every intention of honouring that deal if he can and he feels that when his time with Blackburn does come to an end, so too will his career in English football.

"I want to see out my contract here," said the New Zealand international, quoted in the Lancashire Telegraph. "I can't see myself going anywhere else, not in England."

He added: "The club has been extremely good to me. I love the fans and the atmosphere here.

"My philosophy is I will give everything and put everything in until I can't. Until my body packs in or I am told I am not good enough to be around.

"Whether that be next week, it could be next week, or whether it is two years I will just keep doing that.

"Now to tell you the truth. I don't think I could feel comfortable playing for another club now, having put so much time and effort into Blackburn. It just wouldn't sit right."
