Maradona Gets A Look In

30 October 2012 09:30
When Sam Allardyce was sacked by Rovers, there was talk of Diego Maradona becoming the next manager, it was laughed off then but his name is being linked again.

Alan Nixon of the Daily Mirror is the man that brings us the news this time and it is something of a shock candidate.

Rovers are holding talks with the likes of Harry Redknapp and Henning Berg, but you would not put it past Mr Singh to give the Argentinean a go even though there would be a number of concerns.

Not least of them would be the fact that he knows little English and that most England fans have still not forgiven him for the much publicised 'Hand of God' incident in 1986.

Maradona's has had drink and drug problems in the past and it was reported that he was not the most reliable chap during his spells with the Argentine national side or Arabian club Al Wasl.

Again, we at Roversmad Towers don't believe there is too much mileage in this one. What do you think?
