Oldham have moved to bolster their front line with the loan acquisition of Blackburn striker Nick Blackman. The Latics have struggled for goals this season, with Pawel Abbott's brace at Leyton Orient last weekend representing their only efforts to date. Oldham boss Dave Penney is keen to increase his options and has brought in Blackman for an initial month to add competition for places. Blackman began his career at Macclesfield before his former boss at Moss Rose, Paul Ince, took him to Ewood Park. Ince's tenure at Blackburn proved short lived but Blackman has impressed current boss Sam Allardyce enough to be handed a new deal. Keen for Blackman to garner first-team experience Allardyce has sanctioned the player's temporary move to Boundary Park.
