Khizanishvili seeks Rovers talks

Zurab Khizanishvili admits he is to seek talks with Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce after growing frustrated with a lack of first-team football at Ewood Park. The Georgia international made just three league starts last season as Ryan Nelsen and Chris Samba both impressed at the heart of Rovers' defence. Khizanishvili, who has two years remaining on his existing contract, has proved a popular figure in the North West since joining Blackburn from Rangers in 2006. While Khizanishvili remains happy at the club, he is eager to get Allardyce's take on what type of role he will play next season. Frustrating season "It has been a little bit frustrating because the football side of things has not been going as I hoped it might be," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "The season though is finished so we will see what happens next season. "There is no point talking about what happened in the past. "I still have a two-year contract with Blackburn, it is up to them really, so all I can do is look forward. "I don't know if I will still be here next season. All I can say is I have a contract so I am a Blackburn Rovers player. "I want to play here, but that is my opinion, I don't know what the club are thinking so we will have to talk and see what happens from there. "I still like it at Blackburn. I am not unhappy; I just wish I was playing a bit more."
