Steve Kean said that the 0-0 draw with Arsenal shows that Rovers have far from given up hope in the Premier League and acknowledged that the result gave them a valuable point. Rovers had lost five of the last eight matches going into this game and were expected to come away with nothing except a place in the bottom three, but they now move up to 14th, even though that is only two points away from the drop zone. Nevertheless, Rovers boss Steve Kean felt his team are showing progress. "We set out a plan to make sure their midfield three did not get as much time on the ball as they like and we did that well in the first half," he told Reporters after the game. "When we lost a man we thought 'here we go', but we showed good togetherness and the lads were tremendous with a fantastic appetite to get something. "It is a very important point and keeps our momentum going."
