Kean: Momentum is key for Rovers

Having lost their opening fixture Rovers, unlike a number of their rivals who are involved midweek, have to wait until Saturday to play again. Kean, brought in during the summer by Sam Allardyce to bolster the backroom staff after the departure of Karl Robinson, knows it is important to avoid slipping into a losing run. That happened last season when Blackburn went on a streak of 11 league matches without victory between October and December which cost boss Paul Ince his job and plunged the club into a relegation battle. "It is a vicious league and if you find yourself in a rut and have a couple of bad results then look at the fixture list - it is a very unforgiving league," he said. "I think it is important you get momentum and you keep working hard on the training ground because when things go the way you want them to go and there is winning mentality, that is very important."
