Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jake Kean has become the latest youngster to sign a contract with the club. Kean's deal will keep him at Ewood Park until 2014. Kean, who is still only 19, has impressed while on a loan stint with Hartlepool United, now he has a long term deal to show for his efforts. He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "It is brilliant. It's a dream come true. I thought my first professional contract would be at Derby County, but Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League - it doesn't get much better than that. "This is my dream job. This is what I have wanted to do ever since I was a young boy. Since I left school, I couldn't see myself doing anything else. "It's brilliant to be working with the likes of Paul Robinson, Mark Bunn and Frank Fielding. They give you great advice. "It is a great experience at Hartlepool, going out and playing league games and finding out what it is like to be a senior player around the first team. "They've not got any other keepers so I really have been thrown in at the deep, but I'm enjoying it."
