Kean Deserved His Chance says Berg

Blackburn Rovers manager Henning Berg said that it was a difficult decision to give keeper Jake Kean the nod over Paul Robinson at Blackpool on Saturday.

Berg made the 'footballing decision' as he felt that Kean deserved the chance to play at Bloomfield Road, even though Rovers ended up on the reverse of a 2-0 score line.

Rovers results had not been the cleverest of late but they could have been a lot worse had it not been for some great saves from Robinson.

But at the moment, Berg is in charge and he told BBC Radio Lancashire: "It was purely a football decision. It was a tight decision and a difficult one to make.

"Jake has not played much but I've seen him in training and, with the results we've had lately, I felt that we should give him a chance."
