Rovers boss Steve Kean has confirmed that the club have tabled a bid for Huddersfield Town goalscoring sensation Jordan Rhodes.

The 22-year old played the major part in Town's promotion last season firing home 27 goals in 41 games.

He would be a welcome addition to the side who will not have the services of new signing Leon Best after he damaged cruciate ligaments during a pre-season friendly.

Fulham are already chasing the player, they have had a bid turned down by the Yorkshire outfit, but are said to be putting together another attempt.

It is believed that Rovers owners have placed a £4million bid which will rise a further £2million should Rovers get promoted at the first time of asking.

And speculation has it that the players stands to get wages of £35,000 per week.

Kean told ESPN: "I can confirm that we have a bid in for Rhodes, and are also interested in other players."
