Jones Singles Out Johnson For Praise

Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones was a happy man on Saturday night after watching his side beat Blackburn 3-2 at Hillsborough.

The victory gave the Owls a massive boost, lifting them three points above the relegation zone and at the same time dumping Rovers into the bottom three.

Jones singled out Jermaine Johnson for special praise after he scored two of Wednesday's goals, the leveller on 20 minutes after Rhodes had given Rovers a perfect start from the penalty spot after twelve minutes and then he scored again in the 78th minute, the latter proving to be the winner.

"JJ was outstanding. He felt a little tight towards the end but deserved the reception he got when coming off," Jones said to reporters after the game.

"It's JJ's game and that's what you want, JJ to have his game. He needs to do that again in the remaining games.

"Today we showed a lot of character, a lot of determination, a lot of grit. I can't fault the lads."
