International Break Is Handy For Kean

Steve Kean will be going to the club's owners during the international break to see what he can tap them up for with a view to buying new players in January.

Kean has injury problems that he hopes will clear up during the break as he prepares to take his side to struggling Wigan when they return for a must win game.

Kean told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "You always would like to go into the international break with something on the board and we feel as though we deserved that against Chelsea.

"Having said that, Chris Samba has pulled his hamstring, Scott Dann is seven or eight days away and the break coming up helps players come back."

He added: "I will have a bit of time to have talks with the owners about the budget, but first and foremost we will concentrate on getting the lads back fit ahead of the vital games."
