Blackburn have been boosted by the news that striker Leon Best could find himself back in the game when Rovers under 21's take on Watford tonight.

Rovers suffered a massive blow after signing Best last summer from Newcastle United, he suffered a cruciate knee injury in a friendly ahead of the new season and the £3million investment had to take to the sidelines.

Rovers' boss Michael Appleton confirmed Best should get a run out when he told reporters: "We've got a reserve team game tonight which is going to be good because Leon Best will get his first game.

"Dickson Etuhu will get a run-out tonight, Adam Henley, Fabio Nunes and Josh Morris, so there is going to be a few faces that have been in and around the first team that are going to be playing this evening.

"So I'm looking forward to seeing how they do before I travel up to Hull."
