Paul Ince and Alan Curbishley have stated a firm desire in the West Bromwich Albion hot seat as both seek a return route into management. The relegated Baggies are set to step up their search for a new boss after Tony Mowbray's departure to Scottish giants Celtic. And the former Blackburn Rovers boss, 41, is desperate to prove his Premier League credentials by guiding the Midlands club to promotion from the Championship next season, six months after his ill-fated dismissal Ewood Park. Raring to go: Paul Ince is eager to return to management as he seeks to erase memories of his ill-fated spell at Blackburn 'Without doubt I'd be interested - West Brom are a fantastic club,' Ince told the Express and Star. MacAnthony 'Myself and Tony Mowbray have the same philosophy on football. The fans are fantastic. 'The sooner I can get back into the Premier League, the better. If it's with an ambitious Championship club that wants to move forward, that would be great.' The one-time England international, however, faces competition for the post from former West Ham chief Alan Curbishley. The 51-year-old has been out of the game since quitting Upton Park last September and admits he would now consider a Championship club having recently been linked with taking over from Alan Shearer at Newcastle. He said: 'I've spent the last 10 years in the Premier League and think I've done pretty well. My average finish was about 10th. 'I would like to get back there, but there comes a time when you start to think it won't happen.' Both bosses face stern competition for the Hawthorns vacancy, however. Darren Ferguson is among the favourites to replace Mowbray after leading Peterborough to back-to-back promotions while former Baggies captain Derek McInnes, now at St Johnstone, is also in the frame along with Preston's Alan Irvine.
