13 December 2009 22:31
Phil Brown expects to shake hands with Arsene Wenger on Saturday and bury the memory of his team's last explosive encounter at Arsenal.[LNB]Hands free: Brown[LNB]The Hull manager takes his side to the Emirates Stadium for the first time since accusing Cesc Fabregas of spitting on assistant Brian Horton in March. Then, a bad-tempered FA Cup sixth round tie ended in acrimony as Brown hit out at the Arsenal captain, and referee Mike Riley.[LNB]He also accused Wenger of failing to shake hands for the second time in a season and of getting goalkeeper Bo Myhill booked because of his complaints. Brown was fined for his trouble while Fabregas was cleared, but he hopes the Arsenal manager won't snub him again, as he did Mark Hughes a fortnight ago.[LNB]He said: 'I will shake hands with Arsene, of course. It's not for me to comment on what happened at Manchester City.[LNB]'I'm there at the end of the game. I will shake hands with every manager this year.'[LNB]A stalemate with Blackburn is not the best preparation for a trip to Arsenal, though.Craig Fagan should have scored for Hull when through on goal while Nikola Kalinic went close for Rovers repeatedly. Penalty claims from both sides were denied.[LNB]Sam Allardyce was frustrated by Blackburn's wayward finishing they have now failed to score in their last four league games and cannot wait until he is allowed back on the touchline after his recent heart operation.[LNB] Frustrating afternoon: Kalinic went close several times[LNB]'I'm looking forward to my full recovery in a couple of weeks and getting back on the bench and shouting,' said Allardyce. [LNB]'Towards the end of the game when you want to make more substitutions then it's probably better when you're on the bench rather than communicating from upstairs.'[LNB]HULL (4-4-2): Myhill 6; McShane 7, Gardner 6, Zayatte 5, Dawson 6; Garcia 5 (Altidore 66min, 5), Marney 6 (Vennegoor of Hesselink 78), Boateng 6, Hunt 6; Geovanni 6, Fagan 5 (Olofinjana 78).
