Hitchcock departs Pilgrims

Tom Hitchcock has returned to Blackburn after his loan deal at Plymouth Argyle expired.

The striker had an unsuccessful time at Home Park, failing to find the back of the net in 10 competitive appearances for the Pilgrims.

Hitchcock, 18, had not started a game for Argyle since the 2-1 defeat at Burton on September 3, having fallen behind 16-year-old Matt Lecointe and and Luke Daley in the pecking order.

The youngster's departure leaves Plymouth with just 17 players in their first-team squad, with a Football League embargo preventing them from bringing in any new faces until businessman James Brent's takeover is completed.
