Rovers are yet to keep a clean sheet since Berg's appointment as manager eight games ago, and current centre-back pairing Grant Hanley and Scott Dann came under fire in the wake of last Friday's 4-1 home defeat to Championship leaders Cardiff. Niggling fitness worries ruled Givet out of contention in the opening weeks of Berg's reign and he is yet to feature under the Norwegian despite being named as a substitute for the last five matches.
"I know he's a good option. I know he's played really well earlier," said Berg.
"He was injured when I came. To be fair to Scott and Grant they have played well together. But on (their last) showing I know both of them can do better as well.
"If Givet is a better option then we'll see because I know he's a good player and know Grant and Scott usually play as well, as well."
