Herold Goulon has spoken of his delight after signing a two-year contract with Blackburn following a successful trial.[LNB] The 22-year-old midfielder was a free agent after his contract with Le Mans expired at the end of last season and joined Rovers on trial.[LNB]The two parties soon agreed a deal but Goulon has explained that he had to wait before being able to sign a two-year contract with the Premier League club as Le Mans were entitled to a compensation payment.[LNB]"My agent spoke to the club (Blackburn) and asked if they needed a midfield player," he told Sky Sports News. "They said 'yes', so I came for a trial.[LNB]"After a few days the club agreed to sign me but there was a problem with training compensation for my old club.[LNB]"Blackburn had to pay some money to Le Mans so that was difficult to get sorted.[LNB]"But now we've agreed everything and I'm really happy to sign for Blackburn."[LNB]Goulon had previously been on the books at Lyon and Middlesbrough, signing a three-year deal with Boro in 2006.[LNB]But the 6ft 4in midfielder did not progress as had been hoped and failed to make a first-team appearance for the club.[LNB]Goulon played 37 games for Le Mans after moving back to France in January 2009, as well as making three appearances for France's Under-21s, before returning to England to seek a new club.
