Givet denies Kean's claims

Blackburn defender Gael Givet denies that he refused to play for Rovers in the 3-0 defeat at the Liberty Stadium against Swansea City on Saturday.

Rovers boss Steve Kean has made claims that Givet told him he was ‘not in the right frame of mind’ to pull on the shirt.

But the 30 year old put out a statement that said he did no such thing.

That statement read: “I wish to make it clear that I have never refused to play for Blackburn Rovers.

“It was just the manager Steve Kean who decided which players would be selected for the match at Swansea.”
