PFA Player of the Year Ryan Giggs is the third oldest player to have scored in the Barclays Premier League this season.Whether Giggs' 12 league starts are enough to justify such a prestigious gong is a matter for debate, but the Welshman's performances this season have certainly put younger contenders firmly in their place. Ryan Giggs - Manchester UnitedD.O.B: 29/11/1973Giggs rolled back the years to give Manchester United three points against West Ham in February at the age of 35 years and 71 days. [LNB][LNB]4. Nick Barmby - Hull CityD.O.B: 11/02/1974Barmby got an equaliser for his home-town club against Sunderland in December. The midfielder's goal, at the age of 34 years and 313 days, was not enough to stop the Black Cats winning 4-1 at the KC Stadium. [LNB]5. Andre Ooijer - Blackburn RoversD.O.B: 11/07/1974Another Blackburn player close to picking up his bus pass, Ooijer scored Blackburn's second in Rovers' 2-1 win over Spurs on April 4.Aged 34 years and 267 days, it was the player's second league goal of the campaign, adding to his injury time winner against Everton in August.  Ooijer may also be the 2008-09 Premier League's oldest scorer of an own goal, after netting Arsenal's first when the Gunners beat Blackburn 4-0 on March 14.[LNB]6. Hermann Hreidarsson - PortsmouthD.O.B: 11/07/1974Hreidersson scored his second goal of the season, aged 34 years and 218 days, on Valentine's Day as Pompey beat Man City 2-0 at Fratton Park. Paul Scholes - Manchester United D.O.B: 16/11/1974Scholes has passed the 600 appearances mark for United this season and scored his second league goal of the campaign in a 2-1 win over Sunderland on April 11, aged 34 years and 146 days. His first came a few months earlier in 3-0 win over Fulham.[LNB]8 . Diego Tristan - West Ham United D.O.B: 05/01/1976Tristan's equalizer against Aston Villa on April 18, his second goal of the season, came at the age of 33 years and 103 days.[LNB]9. David Di Michele - West Ham UnitedD.O.B: 06/01/1976The most prolific of our 'golden oldies' with four league goals to his name, Di Michele's most recent goal for the Hammers came on January 28 in a 2-0 win against Hull City. The Italian was 33 years and 22 days old at the time.[LNB]10.
