Diouf desperate to shed fear factor

Sam Allardyce's side have drawn three and lost one of their last four home matches and had to come from behind to earn a point against West Ham. Diouf believes the players may feel under more pressure to capitalise on their home matches - but says they just have to think about winning and not worry about losing. Spurs are the visitors after the international break and the three remaining home games after that are against Wigan, Portsmouth and West Brom. "I think we are scared a little bit when we play at home or we just want to score quick or we are not confident - I don't understand that," he told Rovers World. "We need to get rid of that quickly because we need to play well at home and not think about anything other than a winning mentality. "We know the gaffer has a winning mentality so we have to follow him, just keep working hard in training, come back against Tottenham and get three points. "We have a lot of good players and a good team and we need to believe in ourselves." The fortnight break for internationals will give Allardyce plenty of time to think about his options for the Tottenham game. But with Rovers just two points above the relegation zone the manager is prepared to throw everything at opponents over the remaining eight games. One significant weapon in his armoury is the aerial power of 6ft 5ins centre-back Chris Samba, who helped set up Keith Andrews' equaliser on Saturday and dominated the Hammers in the air. "Chris Samba is one of our major assets, not only as a defender but in getting us opportunities to score goals," said Allardyce. "This player will strike fear throughout the Premier League with his aerial power and I am going to use it to its absolute maximum because it's something that we will be renowned for. "The opposition will worry every time they play us about the aerial power of this guy. "He'll not only be known as a great defender but someone who makes opportunities for us to score goals. He's a huge asset to the club. "I'll still use him up front even when we get Roque back, absolutely. He's a tremendous force." Samba is keen to play a part at both ends of the pitch and hopes to add to his three goals this season. "I just try to contribute to the success of the team and staying in the Premier League," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "If I can contribute one goal here or there it would be very important. "I have been told I am allowed to get forward, depending on the state of the game, when the space is free in front of me to try to create something. "If I can bring this to the team as well as my defending, I think it would be good." Prem Relegation 2008/09 Win Outright: Blackburn 9/2
